How To Check Vouches in the Grow a Garden Discord
To check a player’s vouches, first enter the Grow a Garden Discord Server. Next, locate the search bar on the far right of the screen. (Or swipe to access it on mobile.)
In the search bar, type “vouch @/username” and “@/username vouch“, make sure you do their username and not display name, as it’s likely their display name will have several users. Take note of the vouching dates posted and any comments that vouchers have added, such as whether they trust them, how the trade went, and if the exchange was seamless.
Alternatively, ask your trading partner to send a screenshot of their vouches themselves.
What Is A Vouch?
Vouching allows players keen on trading to build a foundation of trust with another player before the exchange. Since the Trading update isn’t yet ready, we must still rely on organising fair trades via Discord. By checking the Vouches of another player, you can see if others who previously traded with them believe them to be honest, or if they scam.
The Risks and Rewards
Vouches can easily be forged. All it takes is friends of the scammer to enter the Discord and comment fake vouches for them to seem legit and honest. Paired with a scammer’s tendency to “NGF” (Not go first) during trades, this creates the perfect storm for an unsuspecting player to lose a pet and some valuable crops.
However, if the Vouches are honest, it’s a great way to find a trading partner and get your hands on valuable assets that you’ve been missing, such as sheckles, pets, etc.
