How To Complete The Fisch Pumpkin King Quest
Enough rambling, time for the explanation.
How To Find The Quest
Head To Crook’s Hallow. You can access this through the Frightful Mirror item in your inventory. (You should have it if you joined during the event.) It’s also possible speak to the Flying Dutchman NPC in Moosewood for access.
In Crook’s Hallow, speak to the Pumpkin King. You’ll find this NPC near spawn, he looks like a guy with a pumpkin for a head and has the Halloween event logo over his head. Hard to miss.
Speak to him to get the Rune Quest.
Completing The Rune Quest
The Pumpkin King wants you to pick three pumpkins, carve them, and hand them out to some NPCs. Let’s run over this step by step.
- Head to the Pumpkin Patch in Crook’s Hallow. You should see a signpost pointing your there next to the Headless Horseman’s house.
- At the Pumpkin Patch, interact with three pumpkins to pick them.
- Once you have three pumpkins, head over to the cart on the side of the patch. Hold the interact button with it until the wheel fills up to carve a pumpkin. Repeat this three times.
- Now you have the Pumpkins, speak to the Pumpkin King, and he’ll tell you to hand the pumpkins out.
- Use the Frightful Mirror to head back to the overworld.
- You should find several NPCs out in the overworld in Halloween costumes.
- Hand the pumpkins to them. (When we tried it, we were able to give two to the Roslit Bay NPC.)
- Return to the Pumpkin King.
How To Complete The Key Quest
Once you’ve completed the Rune Quest, head back to the Pumpkin King and request the next quest.
He will ask you to catch 5 fish from the Halloween Bestiary, with Halloween mutations. (This year’s mutations, so Spooky, Eerie, or Frightful.)
You can fish at the shore in Crook’s Hallow, or in any water in the area. The easiest way we found to get the fish is to use the Spooky Rod, a fishing rod that you can get as a reward from the Witch quest after finding 10 Ingredients. This has a chance for any of its catches to get one of the featured mutations, making completing the Key Quest a breeze.
