How To Get The Aurora Mutation On Fish In Fisch

Similar to the Mythical Rod increasing Rainbow/Mythic Fish encounter by 30%, the Aurora Rod allows fishers to uncover aurora-mutated fish with a 15% chance. Without the Aurora Rod, it’s impossible to uncover an aurora mutation, unless a generous player hands you a fish or trash item with it already applied.

Fish with the aurora mutation sell for 6.5x more than their standard value, which has similar stats to the Aurora Event, which applies an x6 Luck Boost server-wide when triggered. However, even during an Aurora Event, players cannot find Aurora Mutated fish without the necessary rod.

Fish caught with the Aurora Mutation appears with a glowing pastel-like appearance, similar to the Mythic Mutation but without the rainbow shifting. Instead, the fish have hues of purple, blue, green, pink and white.

Aurora Rod

Since its addition, the Aurora Rod has taken the throne for the most expensive Rod in Fisch (technically). To obtain it, you’ll need to visit Synth’s Shop located inside Vertigo during an Aurora Event where the rod sells for 90,000C$.

Now, this doesn’t seem too outrageous, but the Aurora Event is so insanely rare that it’s recommended to trigger your own using an Aurora Totem bought from the Brine Pools for 500,000C$. This takes the overall price of the Aurora Rod to a whopping 590,000C$!

If not for its 15% chance of catching an Aurora mutated fish, this rod wouldn’t be worth obtaining at all considering its late-game price and lacklustre stats.
