Aliens only speak alien, so if you plan on communicating with Glorp, you need to know How To Get The Fisch Translator. Annoyingly, it does require you to complete two quests, but getting this nifty item is worth it!

How To Get The Fisch Translator
Before you can start the quest to obtain the Translator, you must speak to Glorp on Roslit Island. More specifically, you can use these coordinates: X: 1521, Y: 141, Z: 333. If you head to Dr. Crookspine first before speaking to Glorp, you will get a different quest.
Dr. Crookspine Quest
After speaking to Glorp, head to Dr Crookspine. You can find him inside the building on the island located next to Roslit. You’ll need to climb the rope and enter the building, then head into the first room on your right. To make it easier, use these coordinates: X: -1915, Y: 225, Z: -530.
First Part
When you speak to him, he dismisses your claim that there is an alien. Follow the dialogue until he asks you to catch one fish with the Gleebous mutation. You can catch something with this mutation in Roslit Bay, so keep fishing.
Second Part
After you catch one, return it to him, and he will give you another quest. For this, you need to catch the following items:
- Catch and return a Device Display
- Caught in the Ocean
- Catch and return a Translator Core
- Caught in Roslit Bay
- Catch and return a Communication Circuit
- Caught at Sunstone Island
Once you hand him all three of these items, you will get the Translation item. Now, head to Glorp and speak to them to start their quest! Our guide linked above talks you through what you need to do.
