How To Play Cave Diving Experience
The object of Cave Diving Experience is to explore the vast cave system, and discover new locations as you do. The map is big and filled with secrets. Though it’s also tough to navigate. You’ll need to get through tiny tunnels and avoid getting trapped in the process.
Controls
The first thing to master in your journey to becoming an expert caver is getting to grips with the controls. We go over each of these and also elaborate a little on some of the more specific ones, and what they’re used for.
- WASD – Movement
- Space – Jump
- C – Crawl
- Use this to squeeze through small spaces.
- R – Ragdoll/Unragdoll
- This causes your avatar to go ragdoll and fall with gravity. This can help you fit through tight spots, especially in downhill cave sections.
- 1- Light
- This powers up your lamp, letting you see better in darker areas.
- 2 – SOS
- This tool lets you call for assistance if you’re stuck. You might get some help…
Categories
You’ll get a rough idea of what to expect from a route by checking out the Category. It’s best to work your way up to harder ones, as you get a better idea of how the controls work and your character moves.
Easy
Very easy tunnels that are great if you’re just starting out. There aren’t too many tight spaces and you probably won’t eve need to use Ragdoll.
Medium
A little harder. You may need to be better at wiggling through tight spaces, but all in all not too tricky to progress through.
Hard
More advanced. You need to get used to entering backwards or sideways, wiggling your avatar about to advance, and leveraging the Ragdoll function in order to keep progressing forwards.
Flooded Cave
This one gets a little trickier. Expect to face areas that are underwater for some time, and have to deal with the oxygen mechanics. Yeah, the game has those. Good luck!
Subzero
A chilly reception in these cold ice caves. Expect long stretches of tricky squeezes and quite a few surprise dead ends down there.
Extreme
This gets pretty tricky. Expect to spend longer trying to get through gaps, and patiently moving through. It takes time, and it’s easy to get stuck.
Beyond Extreme
Once you get deep into the caves you might find other category labels.

Tips
So what are some secrets for success? Time to impart some of the useful hints we learned in our hours of getting stuck in the various tunnels.
- Scope out areas.
- Sometimes there is more than one exit from a chamber, and what looks like a dead end might go a lot further, use your lamp to explore if you need to.
- Other players can block a tunnel.
- Other players do act as physics objects for you, so we don’t recommend trying to explore crowded areas.
- Dead ends aren’t always dead ends.
- Some are teleport spots.
- Keep an eye on your health bar.
- If you get stuck in an awkward position in ragdoll your health might start going down! Make sure to un-ragdoll and correct your position to avoid your untimely doom. Unless you’re super stuck, I guess.
