Is Fisch Back? – The Return and Comeback of Fisch!

There’s been a rise of players in Fisch, which is making many people ask, Is Fisch back? I’m here to explain the situation and the return of this iconic game.

The Comeback of The Century

Although claiming Fisch’s comeback is a comeback of the century is a stretch, it is huge news! The player count of Fisch is starting to increase, with the numbers being in the hundreds of thousands again during a live update.

Do Big Studios and Pay to Win

On the 9th of July, 2025, developers made an announcement on the official Fisch server explaining that Do Big Studios no longer has an impact on the development of Fisch. From then, the player count has started to rise again.

A small team made Fisch when it launched. The game gained popularity, and Do Big Studios took over. Do Big runs some of the biggest games on the Roblox platform, such as a Dusty Trip and Blade Ball. You’ll notice most, if not all, of the games Do Big owns are pay-to-win. Or at least, become pay-to-win very quickly.

Once Do Big took over, Fisch started to become pay-to-win. There was always a flashy new rod available that you’d have to grind to get. You’d log in, and there would be bright colours of the latest advertisements popping up for purchasing new limited-time skins or rods with Robux.

However, now Do Big have no impact on the game again, players are returning. There are no more annoying ads. You can still grind for rods and complete quests, but Fisch feels calmer. You can do things in your own time and not worry about missing out.

Grow a Garden

At the time Fisch declined, Grow a Garden appeared. Although a simple farming simulator at its core, Jandel changed the way games on Roblox work. Players were drawn to weekly admin events, as they could get limited seeds and powerful mutations. The game even broke world records!

As with all Roblox games, Grow a Garden is also starting to see a decline in players due to it becoming repetitive and pay-to-win. Players grew tired of seeds and items always being out of stock, and again, they’d have to grind to keep up with anything meta.

My Thoughts

I absolutely love Fisch. I was hooked (pun intended) when it released. The last time I properly played was the introduction of the Ancient Isles. Which was around when Do Big properly took over.

From then on, it became too grind-heavy. I’d log in and feel behind, as I wouldn’t have the new meta rod (Fungal Rod fan forever). I was excited to have a less grindy place to fish when developers added the Second Sea. But sadly, this was locked behind a high level.

I’ve been playing more now that Do Big, and the Second Sea, are gone. The game is very nostalgic for me, and I’ve been happy exploring new areas and keeping to myself as I work on bestiaries I never finished. Sometimes I’ll trade with others, but most of the time, you can find me in Mushgrove!

Fisch is likely to drop again, but that’s completely normal with Roblox games! Right now, Fisch is back. Players can still get great rods or items without Robux, and everything seems at a slower pace, which is nice considering there used to be a lot more to keep up with. If you have your own thoughts on this comeback, as well as your experience with the game, feel free to drop a comment!
