There’s no shortage of fishing games on Roblox, but two are standing out more than others at the moment. Which begs the question, is Fish It better than Fisch? I’m here to give you my thoughts on both of these titles and what makes them so good.
Head over to Roblox to start playing Fish It and Fisch. If you’re familiar with the ups and downs of Fisch recently, check out my piece on whether Fisch is back.
Is Fish It Better Than Fisch?
Before we get into it, this is purely my own opinion based on my experience playing both games. If you have a thought you’d like to share, comment below!
This Ocean Ain’t Big Enough For Two
Fisch released in 2024, and it was huge! I love fishing games in general, so it immediately took my interest, and I began playing. I was hooked (pun intended), and played through events and tried to keep up to date with the meta rod. However, as most may know, Fisch had a downfall after Do Big studios took over. Like many players, I stopped playing.
Time passed, and a new team took over and said goodbye to Do Big. Changes were made, and players hopped back onto Fisch, which I did too! But, lurking deep in the waters was Fish It, a brand new fishing game that appeared. Of course, as a fishing lover, I had to give it a go.
After playing for a few minutes, I realised just how similar Fish It was to Fisch. Similar islands, similar rods, and similar events. It felt like Fisch, but looked different in appearance. It has many of the same features Fisch has, such as enchanting your rods. However, this didn’t put me off!
The Main Differences
I find that the fishing mini-game is easier in Fish It. Instead of needing to keep the bar moving while you catch something in Fisch, instead, you repeatedly click so the bar fills, and you catch it. As someone who has lost their streak in Fisch multiple times due to a -85% progress speed, an easy mini game is a lot nicer.
Although I complain, catching fish can feel too easy in Fish It. In Fisch, I think more about the bait I use, my rod, and where I fish. When I do catch something rare or with a negative progress speed, I feel proud! Easy is never a bad thing, but it can make things feel repetative.
A reason many players stopped playing Fisch was because of the pop-ups Do Big implemented. Ads for skins and bundles costing Robux would appear on screen. This has been removed now in Fisch, but I notice there are a few pop ups in Fish It instead. They don’t appear on your screen, but there’s a lot of flashing lights and stalls selling items that cost Robux on Fisherman Island, which makes things feel less calm.
The Verdict
I like both games. Perhaps it’s pure nostalgia, but I am swayed towards Fisch. If Fish It had vastly different aspects to it, my answer may change. However, it feels too similar and is often too easy. Fisch has it’s issues, of course, such as almost impossible quests to get a rod, or creatures that are a tough catch, but it’s still calming and fun to play.
You have the option to keep up with the meta rod if you’d like, or you can take it easy. The soundtrack is great, and it feels like there is a lot more detail in Fisch when it comes to designs and events.
