It’s Halloween and things are a little spookier. Who are these transparent guys trying to jump you and shouting abuse when they grip you? That’ll be the Type Soul ghosts then. They’re aggressive and toxic, but taking them out might be in your best interest. Let’s explain why.

About Ghosts
Ghosts resemble partly see-through player avatars with no features, and names like ‘Spook’, ‘Midnight’, ‘Darkness’, things along those lines. Ghosts are very aggressive and will attack if you come within range. They sport a player moveset, though it’s all pretty similar. They’re all Hakuda users, though pop Speed skills from time to time.
If they manage to grip you, they’ll insult you as a parting gift. Charming.
Note: Sometimes when we were fighting ghosts, their animations would glitch and the ghost would appear standing and taking hits, but not reacting. This means the ghost is actually knocked down and ready to grip!
Where To Find Ghosts
An awful lot of locations are haunted at the moment. You can find ghosts in Hueco Mundo, Karakura Town, Soul Society, and Wandenreich. Let’s go over where we’ve found ghosts in each world, in case you’re on the hunt.
Karakura Town
- Streets
- Construction Site, near V (Often.)
Hueco Mundo
- Near Initial Spawn
- Outside Las Noches
- Inside Las Noches (though might have pathed there after a player.)
Wandenreich
- On the frozen lake outside the town.
Soul Society
- In the central area between the large gates.
Why You Might Want To Fight Ghosts
There are several reasons you might want to fight with ghosts, aside from getting revenge on them for their terrible attitude.
- You need to get 7 ghost kills in any location for the Halloween Quest.
- Ghosts drop Ectoplasm, which makes extra points to use at the Halloween Shop.
- There’s a small chance a ghost will drop a Ghastly Core. You use this to summon the Halloween Boss, Ghoulossus, King Of The Dead.
