8BitDo is a video game hardware company founded in 2013. They’ve produced some well-known retro controllers on the market over the years. Their latest product is the 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad for mobile and other devices.
8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad works with multiple platforms, including Android, Nintendo Switch1, Switch 2, Windows PC, Apple devices, and SteamOS. It sticks to the familiar 8BitDo aesthetic but introduces features as well.
Pro 3 includes magnetic interchangeable components, giving you the ability to adjust physical elements of the controller. You can also store up to three custom profiles, which lets you switch control schemes depending on the game or platform.
Unlike the previous models, Pro 3 uses TMR joysticks, which provide greater sensitivity and precision. It also features hall-effect triggers and tactile feedback on the bumpers and D-pad that’s meant to feel both clicky and responsive without being stiff.
Charging and connectivity are handled via an integrated charging dock. When placed on the dock, the controller charges, and once removed, it reconnects. As for the software, Pro 3 uses the 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2.
The gamepad lets you customise a lot of things. Button remapping, sensitivity settings for both joysticks and triggers, vibration levels, and macro creation are all available in the app.
When will the 8BitDo Bluetooth Gamepad be available for mobile?
Game Outlet Europe has announced that the 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad will begin shipping across Europe starting August 13th, 2025. The gamepad is available in three variants: Purple, Grey, and G Classic. It’s priced at €69.99 or £59.99 depending on the region.
You can check out the gamepad on the official website of 8BitDo. And if you aren’t interested in gamepads right now, then read our next news. Warframe Announces Closed Beta for Android, Dates to be Revealed Soon.
