Looks like it’s the season of collabs! We just dropped news on the Sword of Convallaria x The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crossover happening from November 28th. Now, Farlight Games’ AFK Journey has confirmed a new crossover with Delicious in Dungeon. This one will also roll out on November 28th.
How did all this happen?
Due to an eventful situation in which characters from the dungeon-crawling series abruptly step into Esperia, setting off a chain of weird encounters. Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck and Senshi are seen trying to work their way back to the surface after getting lost deep underground. But only to collide with unfamiliar creatures during a fight that tears open a route straight into this new world.
From there, Laios and Marcille are pulled into an adventure with Magister Merlin. Meanwhile, Chilchuck and Senshi watch their carefully collected ingredients become part of a new problem entirely. Watch the AFK Journey x Delicious in Dungeon trailer here!
The crossover leans heavily into the cooking traditions of Delicious in Dungeon. A temporary cooking system offers combat buffs based on whatever you manage to prepare. The devs have teased a wide spread of ingredients already.
The event positions the realm as a forgotten land covered in miasma and swarmed by Hypofiends. The responsibility once again is on Magister Merlin to clean up the territory’s problems.
Restoration is framed as a long-term effort requiring steady planning, exploration and story progression. Clearing out the corruption leads to new buildings and decorations.
AFK Journey x Delicious in Dungeon is full of exploration
The crossover encourages you to navigate forests, mountains, waterfalls and rivers using vines and tree stumps as makeshift paths. Scattered across these areas are small diversions, from petting stray cats to ice-skating, snowball fights and quiet moments in the winter scenery.
The arrival of Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck and Senshi brings the frantic survival energy from Delicious in Dungeon into AFK Journey. In their original tale, the group barely survives an encounter with a dragon and must rethink their relationship with food while descending again without supplies.
