Albion Online has rolled out the Realm Divided Part II content. It expands on the earlier Realm Divided update with two significant additions to Faction Warfare: Faction Battle Standards and a redesigned Bandit Assault event.
What changes in Albion Online post Realm Divided Part II?
Faction Battle Standards introduce a new set of objectives to Faction Warfare. They function as carriable, capture-the-flag-style banners that appear directly in the open world. You can find these Standards in any Province currently in conflict.
When one first spawns, it’s locked and marked on the Region Map, as well as on the World Map for players in a nearby region. After a short period, the banner unlocks and becomes available to any Faction-flagged player. At this point, it disappears from the World Map, and you must locate it through direct engagement on the ground.
Once claimed, a Battle Standard becomes both a target and an opportunity. Opposing Faction groups can fight over possession, attempting to increase the banner’s value by completing Faction Warfare activities while it’s being carried.
The goal is to transport it to a friendly Outpost to convert that built-up value into Faction Points. However, if an enemy Faction seizes the banner and successfully returns it themselves, all accumulated value transfers to them instead.
The Bandit Assault event now has a two-phase, multi-Faction competition
Phase One lasts 40 minutes and spans all lethal Provinces. During this stage, all Outposts in lethal Provinces are taken over by Caerleon, though Fortresses and the Provinces themselves do not change ownership.
Standard Faction Warfare activities, such as Faction Camps and Faction Chests are active throughout these territories. All Factions compete to earn Bandit Assault Supplies. If a Province is simultaneously in conflict, Supplies earned there count toward both the Bandit Assault and the Province conflict.
Phase Two runs for 20 minutes and narrows the conflict to two Provinces where the generation of Bandit Assault Supplies increases. While players can still capture Outposts in other lethal Provinces, those captures no longer yield Bandit Assault Supplies.
