Anime-themed beat ’em up TrainCrasher launches globally onto Android

Over the Christmas break Softmax decided to globally launch their popular beat ’em up style game called TrainCrasher. Originally released over in Korea, and possibly other Asian markets, this game received an English version that was soft launched back in November of this year. Now anyone can snag a copy of this anime themed arcade game off of Google Play.

TrainCrasher, as the name suggests, takes place on a subway where players will be beating on enemies while moving through the moving train. So it is a mix of side-scrolling arcade game with old school beat ’em up gameplay, and a little RPG love to round everything out nicely. The storyline doesn’t stray too far from the tried and true revenge story usually found in the old school games of this genre.

Players will choose which fighter they want to play as, with each fighter having their own unique fighting style. From there you jump onto the train, taking out enemies as they come at you, while making your way through the train. You’ll level up your fighter along the way, which will also let you learn new skills which you will need in order to defeat the bosses you encounter.

Players will also be able to upgrade their weapons and form unique combos when fighting, or buy yourself a new weapon to replace your old on with. All of this is wrapped up in anime style visuals and the fighting is actually quite fast-paced and fluid, which is nice for a change with these sorts of games on mobile.

If you’re a fan of old school beat ’em up style games, then you’ll probably want to check this one out. TrainCrasher can be downloaded off of Google Play for free with optional IAPs available for those of you who want to use them.
