Arcadium – Space Odyssey is now out on Android. It’s a survival roguelite by Luciano Bercini, an Italian indie developer. The previous titles in the series are Arcadium – Space War and Arcadium – Space Shooter.
Arcadium – Space Odyssey differs from its previous counterparts by introducing a survivor-style roguelite mechanic. While Space War is a fixed-screen shooter mixing asteroids and invaders, and Space Shooter is more linear.
Arcadium – Space Odyssey focuses on surviving against escalating, massive alien swarms
It features exploration of a procedurally generated universe, resource harvesting, and permanent progression. You jump into a universe that never stays the same for long, with every run spinning up a new stretch of space to deal with.
The core loop revolves around surviving increasingly dangerous waves of aliens while moving between planets, stars, black holes, and other cosmic oddities. Each playthrough introduces unique planets, wandering merchants, strange anomalies, and unexpected discoveries.
Between alien assaults, the pace deliberately slows to give you more room to think. You can use these calmer windows to land on nearby planets, harvest vital resources, and prepare for whatever the next wave brings.
You can choose a spaceship and then stack together artefacts, talents, items, and relics to create distinct builds. There are hundreds of different abilities available through talents, items, artefacts, and more. Synergies can push a ship toward aggressive damage, careful control, or other playstyles.
The structure of Arcadium – Space Odyssey also supports short sessions. You can play runs in brief bursts, with the option to pick up right where you leave off things. Along the way, it offers extra missions and unlockables.
If you like space shooters, that too with roguelite elements, then check the game out from the Google Play Store.
