Atari announces their upcoming mobile games line-up, includes Dungeons & Dragons: Warbands

Atari today announced their upcoming line-up of mobile games for a variety of platforms, and by variety we mean iOS and Android. Out of the five titles announced, two of them will indeed be heading our way soon. Roller Coaster Tycoon and Dungeons & Dragons: Warbands are both slated for release onto Android but don’t get excited just yet as both of these games won’t make it onto our platform until next year.

Roller Coaster Tycoon

Pretty much as the name suggests, you’ll be in charge of starting up your own theme park where the main attractions are roller coasters. You’ll have to design them from the ground up, making them as crazy and exciting for your visitors. Of course a theme park can’t be just roller coasters, so you will have to build other attractions as well to bring more people in to spend their hard earned money.

For those of you who are not technically inclined when it comes to roller coaster building through the editor, there are some pre-made ones you can use or modify to your liking. As of right now, Roller Coaster Tycoon is slated for release on Android in Q1 2013. No word on pricing just yet but don’t be surprised if it ends up being a free-to-play title.

Dungeons & Dragons: Warbands

The second of the two games announced for Android is a title based off of the Dungeons & Dragons series called Dungeons & Dragons: Warbands. This particular game will be a turn-based strategy title set in the Forgotten Realms universe. Players will be able to select one of four factions before building their Warbands from hundreds of unique units. You will then be able to battle other players in the hope to secure victory for their faction, and control of Zhentil Keep.  A single player campaign will also allow gamers to practice their tactics and unlock new units.

All we know about this game in terms of a release date for Android is that it is ‘coming soon’ while iOS will be getting it in December. With that said, we will probably see Dungeons & Dragons: Warbands arrive in Q1 2013 probably as well.

Unfortunately the rest of the games announced are all for iOS excluding one which happens to be for Facebook.
