The starchy top-down shooter Brotato Android release drops very soon, with pre-registration now open. Brotato: Premium is an Android port of the popular shooter that made its name on PC in September 2022.

The game sees you take on the role of the titular Brotato, a sentient potato and the only one of his people with the skill to wield six weapons at once.

A Potato Space Horror, You Don’t Hear That Every Day

Brotato is on a spaceship, which crashes onto an alien planet, and leaves our hero as the only survivor. Unfortunately, all kinds of nasty alien creatures inhabit that world, and they’re hungry for carbs. If Brotato is to survive long enough to be rescued, he’ll need to mow down wave after wave of bloodthirsty monsters with his weapon skills.

In the vein of Vampire Survivors, Brotato is auto-fire by default, though sets itself out a little from the hordes of clones by making this optional. If you want to manually direct your weapons, you can do that.

So Many Options

The game is a rogue-lite, with runs lasting around thirty minutes and random chance determining quite a lot of your future. There are hundreds of different weapons and items to mix things up, some more serious than others. There are also different character traits that can make a big difference in the success of your run.

In addition to all of this, Brotato: Premium comes with a set of accessibility options, allowing you to tweak the difficulty exactly to your liking. This might be handy if you’re not up for a stressful experience.

We can expect a fun, silly, and rather violent time as a gun-toting tuber in the near future.

If this all sounds like your cup of tea, or more appropriately, your cup of potato soup, you can pre-register now via Google Play.
