Brotato has just rolled out its first major content update with a new DLC called New Dawn. But for now, it’s only out on PC. It will launch on console and mobile versions after a month. After spending two weeks in beta, the update brings quality-of-life improvements, community-requested features, and a few other additions.

What’s in store in the Brotato DLC New Dawn?

The highlight of the upcoming Brotato DLC New Dawn is a new Ban system. It allows you to block up to eight unwanted shop items during a run. Weapons, however, are off-limits from this feature.

Three new save profiles are also another addition. It’s especially for players who like testing different strategies without losing progress.

There’s also a Codex, functioning like an in-game encyclopaedia that logs weapons, items, and even your alien kill count. So, now it’ll be easier to track your progress or discover what you’ve yet to unlock.

New Dawn DLC brings six new items and one new weapon to Brotato. Fresh Meat is available right away, while the rest: Fruit Basket, Candy Bag, Ghost Outfit, Will-o’-the-Wisp, and Hourglass, require achievements to obtain.

The Fruit Basket unlocks after collecting 100 fruits while at maximum health. Candy Bag comes from winning a run without locking any shop items. Ghost Outfit needs a +70% Dodge stat, while Will-o’-the-Wisp needs burning 30 enemies in one wave. Lastly, Hourglass appears after a peculiar challenge.

As for the new weapon, the Vorpal Sword is unlocked by hitting a +100% Crit Chance. It’s capable of devastating one-shot kills with alternating thrust and sweep attacks. Also, there are new icons in character and item descriptions, accessibility options.

It’s just been a month

Brotato launched in September 2022. It was developed by Blobfish and published by Erabit Studios on mobile. However, Evil Empire took over from Blobfish just last month, and the studio has wasted no time putting its stamp on the game. They even have plans to unify all Brotato platforms by 2026.

Grab the game from the Google Play Store if you haven’t already.
