Call of Duty Elite companion app for Android to finally launch next week

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was release there was also a new service called Elite which integrated a bunch of social and extra features which you could sign up for either for free or as a paid subscription to fully unlock everything. This Elite service was also supposed to have an Android and iOS application which subsequently got delayed.

The delay was mostly due to the problems Elite was having staying online with the ridiculous amount of traffic it was getting. Due to all the traffic, Activision decided to delay the release of the mobile app in order to prevent even more problems, and once the traffic evened out and more servers were brought in, then they would release it. Well apparently that time is drawing near as the Elite app is now slated for release next week.

The Elite app itself will let you access certain features of the actual service including seeing your career stats,  edit your loadouts, view your performance in recent matches, and browse current challenges. You won’t be able to access any of the other features, some of which you would think you’d be able to use such as watching the videos, but it is still a handy little companion app, especially if you get your loadouts all set up before you get home. That way you can just jump right into the game and start shooting people in the face.

The Android version of Elite will be available next week and should be a free download. You can see a preview of the app in the video above, closer to the end of it.
