Capitalize on the misfortunes of others in Global Recession, now available on Google Play

Released by Working Mill, Global Recession is a game that’s based on modern financial instability, at the institutional level. In a macabre fashion, the game is quite simple. Players are assuming the role of an unnamed “average guy” attempting to eek out an existence during a global recession.

Financial Analysts, Day Traders, et al are all losing their proverbial shirts, and are jumping from skyscrapers in similar fashion to the Great Depression. As these people in suits fall to the ground (disappearing into a puff of smoke), gold coins or jewels are frequently left behind. Players then tap on the screen where they wish their “average guy” to walk to, in the hopes of snapping up the cash without getting hit by the next falling banker.

If the players manages to avoid getting killed before time expires, the level is completed. Believe it or not, this is actually a bit tricky as you tap on the exact spot you want the “average guy” to walk to, as opposed to holding down on one side of the screen, and releasing should you decide to stop; this makes the instinctual and split-second decisions a bit tough at first, until muscle memory kicks in. I’m not sure why, but that’s how it played out for me when I tried it out.

The developer has designed the skyscrapers to resemble those found in cities and countries that are settings for the game, such as  USA, Mexico, Brazil, Greece, Spain, The United Kingdom, Australia, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. Global Recession includes Google Play Games integration, and can be found on Google Play for free with optional IAPs included.
