Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Suddenly Materializes on Android

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has arrived out of the blue on Android.

Konami’s classic action-platformer with RPG elements first appeared on PS1 in 1997, and went on to become one of the most influential and acclaimed games ever made. It even co-spawned a genre, metroidvania, alongside Super Metroid.

The game sees you exploring a sprawling castle and killing monsters. While this castle is a complete, non-linear environment, you can only access certain areas after collecting items or obtaining abilities.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a Full Port with Extras

The Android version is a full port of the original, including music and sound effects, with a couple of new features. You can continue now, and there are achievements. The game offers controller support, too, so you can kick back like it’s 1997.

Castlevania: Symphony is available on Google Play right now for $2.99.
