Sid Meier’s Civilization VI on Android is finally getting a long-overdue update. The Android version will catch up with all other platforms in terms of content, features, and gameplay tweaks. The massive update is landing on June 12th, bringing all units to Civilization VI Android.

New Units, Maps, Modes, and a Bunch of Fixes

Aspyr is rolling out the hefty update to give mobile players a more complete Civ VI experience. There are three new units getting added to the game. The first one is the Trebuchet, a Medieval-era siege unit. It gives a serious upgrade from the Catapult and eventually turns into the Bombard.

Then there’s the Man-At-Arms, which upgrades from the Swordsman and evolves into the Musketman. And the Line Infantry is being introduced as an Industrial-era unit. It follows the Musketman and eventually transitions into Infantry.

You’ll now have access to the Mediterranean Large Map and the Earth Huge Map. Both come with terrain and resources that are more realistic. Also, each one has a variant that lets you start at the historical capital of your chosen civilization.

Among the new game modes is the Tech and Civic Shuffle Mode. It mixes up the techs and civics within each historical era, giving you new paths. Then there’s the Barbarian Clans Mode, which changes how Barbarians work. Instead of the usual Barbarian Tribes, there are now seven unique clans that can eventually become City-States.

Apart from all the new units, two new features are coming to Civilization VI Android. They are the Natural Wonder Picker and the City-State Picker. These let you decide which wonders and city-states you want to appear in your game.

Also, the new Leader Selection Pool gives you the option to choose from a curated list of leaders, including the addition of Julius Caesar.

Civilization VI Android Is Bringing Two New Passes Alongside All Units and Maps

There’s more stuff coming on June 12th. Android players will finally be able to buy the New Frontier Pass and the Leader Pass. The New Frontier Pass is priced at $29.99 and includes eight new civilisations, nine new leaders, and six new game modes.

The Leader Pass will be up for grabs at $19.99. It adds 12 new leaders, plus six alternate takes on classic leaders. These expansions have been available elsewhere for a while.

So, get the game from the Google Play Store and gear up for the huge update!
