Subnautica is finally coming to mobile. Originally released in 2018 for PC and Mac, the deep-sea survival game quickly earned a reputation as a must-try game. It was later released for PlayStation, Xbox, and next-gen consoles. There’s also been a sequel and a spin-off.
When Is Subnautica Landing on Mobile?
Subnautica is officially launching on Android on July 8th, 2025. Unknown Worlds, the publishers, have dropped a new trailer showing what the game looks like on phones. The visuals hold up quite well, so, let’s hope it runs as smoothly as it looks!
On that note, watch the new Subnautica mobile trailer below.
Talking about the game, if you haven’t played it yet, let me give you a quick introduction. You play as Ryley Robinson, the lone survivor of a crashed spaceship called The Aurora. You’re stuck on planet 4546B, which is entirely covered in water.
It’s a survival game, so you need to find food and water, keep an eye on your oxygen levels, and craft everything you need to survive. You’ll also be building submarines, underwater bases, and tools, while trying not to get eaten by the local wildlife.
The story has a bit of mystery, too. Strange clues are scattered across the ocean floor. They hint at what happened to the planet before you showed up, and what might be needed to get out.
You Can Pre-Register Now
Subnautica was developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment and offers a first-person, open-world format. You can tackle the game in standard Survival mode for the full experience. Or switch to Freedom or Creative mode if you just want to explore the game’s beautiful underwater world.
For Subnautica mobile, the controls have been redesigned for touchscreens, and there’s support for controllers too. You’ll also get Google Play Games achievements and cloud save support if you’re on Android, so you can switch devices without losing progress.
Pre-registrations are now live, so head over to the Google Play Store to get the game. It’s priced at $8.99.
