Pixeljam has launched a new game on mobile. It’s Cornhole Hero which lets you be the ultimate bag thrower. Out now on Android and iOS, the game is about tossing beanbags in pixels. The game embraces minimalism, with quick and fun gameplay.
Pixeljam has been around for two decades, and has dropped quirky titles like Last Horizon and Potatoman Seeks the Troof. They took a break from mobile games for a while, but Cornhole Hero marks their return to the platform.
What’s a Cornhole Hero?
Seriously, I don’t have much of an idea. But apparently, it’s a stripped-down arcade take on the backyard sport that’s booming in the U.S. In fact, it’s right behind Pickleball.
Cornhole Hero is all about the toss. You get three modes: Tournament, Blitz and Balloons. Each mode has a different colour code, too. Tournament is blue and white, Blitz is orange and yellow while Balloons is purple and pink.
The Tournament mode lets you rack up the highest score with just five bags. Blitz is a 30-second free-for-all where you can fling as many bags as you want. Lastly, Balloons is exactly what it sounds like. You pop as many balloons you can with beanbags.
Gameplay in Cornhole Hero is simple. You swipe to toss bags, aiming for the hole or balloons to maximize points. It’s all about timing and aim, with a simple swipe controlling your toss. You can catch a glimpse of the game in the trailer below.
Will You Play It?
With high-contrast colours and simple pixelated figures, Cornhole Hero will remind you of old-school arcade games. It’s simple but a fun time-killer. It’s available now for free on Android, with optional ad removal via a one-time purchase.
