Crunchyroll Game Vault has added another notable title to its growing mobile collection, the one-hit-kill 2D fighter Two Strikes. Known for its minimalist but tense approach to combat, it’s more of a ‘Stylish Samurai Showdown.’ The game brings a special addition during the launch.

What’s the story?

You step into the role of a warrior where a single successful blow is enough to secure victory or end a fight in defeat. It’s a fictionalised version of Japan during the Sengoku Period in 1568, when Oda Nobunaga’s army was advancing on Kyoto.

All the samurai, warrior monks, peasants, and outlaws are caught in a cycle of violence. So, the Shinigami, the God of Death, created a tournament for those who died with an unquenched desire for vengeance.

These souls fight for a chance to return to the mortal world and continue their path of slaughter. The winner will become the Champion of the God of Death. You can choose from a roster of eight warriors: Kenji, Tomoe, Hozoin, Goemon, Yasuke, Ayai, Miyo, and Shenyan.

Crunchyroll: Two Strikes has ink-brush black-and-white visuals, heavily influenced by traditional Japanese art styles. Those are paired with fluid animations that make each duel visually striking. Take a look or two at the game below.

The gameplay revolves around mastering your character’s weapon, reading your opponent, and landing that one decisive hit. You rely on tactics such as feints, parries, and positioning to gain the upper hand. You can play matches in local multiplayer, online cross-platform battles, or solo against AI opponents.

Crunchyroll: Two Strikes has a launch surprise

The mobile release comes with a special addition. It’s Baki Hanma from the Baki Hanma series making his debut as a playable fighter. He’s bringing his own stage and a new music track composed by Ben Hung.

But but but his inclusion is a limited-time exclusivity for the Crunchyroll Game Vault version, available only until August 28. So, if you’re a Crunchyroll subscriber, grab Two Strikes from the Google Play Store right away.
