Zynga is bringing a blast from the past to their game Custom Street Racer 2. Also called CSR2, with a special crossover celebrating the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future. Yeah, the 1985 film by Robert Zemeckis.

CSR2 Is Taking You Back to the Future

Starting today, you can collect and race the legendary DeLorean Time Machine from the first film. It doesn’t come with any performance boosts or special abilities, but it’s a fully drivable car. Apart from the car, CSR2 is rolling out a full Back to the Future-themed experience.

The crossover features a custom in-game UI inspired by the film, a brand-new narrative and multiple events as well. There will be three flash events dedicated to the Time Machine, along with a community competition.

Zynga has confirmed that additional themed events will continue to be released throughout the year, making this more than just a one-time update. Right now, CSR2 is having some quizzes going on their socials where you can participate and win goodies. Check them out right here.

Meanwhile, catch a glimpse of how the past is meeting the future in CSR2 in the PV below.

Sadly, No Free Trips to 1955!

Although the game isn’t letting you travel to 1955 like the movie or even Reverse:1999, this CSR2 x Back to the Future collab is sure one of a kind. The legendary gull-winged ride from the first film is now drivable in-game which is quite exciting in itself.

Emphasizing this unique collab, Sam Cooper, Zynga’s vice president of games, called the Time Machine one of the most recognizable and beloved picture cars in history. He highlighted the excitement of letting players virtually race the car while celebrating the movie’s milestone anniversary.

What do you think about this crossover and will you be driving the DeLorean? You can grab Custom Street Racer 2 from the Google Play Store to snag the new car.
