Dancing Pixel Studios releases Gamepad Enabler application for Android

Dancing Pixel Studios are the developers responsible for the Sixaxis game controller application for Android. The Sixaxis controller is a PS3 style controller which you can use with your Android device when playing games. Now they have made an application you can use with other bluetooth controllers.

Gamepad Enabler is for anyone who is using a rooted Android 3.1+ device and you have a bluetooth controller in your possession that is compatible with Bluez IME application. What Gamepad Enabler does is trick your Android device into thinking that your bluetooth controller is natively supported. This means you will be able to play games with true analog controls if you want to which is a big bonus if you play FPS games or just general action games that play better with this type of control scheme.

As of right now, since most games only support one gamepad connected to it, Gamepad Enabler only supports one controller at a time although the developer does mention they will update it with multiple controller support when more games support this feature. An example of supported controllers include:

– Zeemote JS1
– MSI Chainpus BGP100
– Phonejoy
– iControlPad

The market listing also comes with install instructions so be sure to read those before jumping right into things. It’s only a few steps and should take no more than 5 minutes if you are already rooted. You can nab Gamepad Enabler off of the Google Play store for $1.22.
