DinoBlits is a new RPG which lets you explore what led to the disappearance of the dinosaurs. Well, not exactly but kind of. It’s a strategy game that lets you explore, strategize and save the last species of dinosaurs out there.
Set 65 Million Years Ago
DinoBlits takes you back to the Jurassic era, 65 million years ago, when dinos ruled the world. Except instead of munching on leaves or each other, the dinosaurs are building their own tribes. They are fighting off waves of enemies and trying to outsmart extinction.
You start by creating your own dino chief, the backbone of your tribe. You can tweak their stats and set up your tribe’s vibe. For instance, choose whether they’re strong and brave or more research-focused and chill.
The dinos in DinoBlits have feelings and needs, so keeping them happy is part of the strategy. The gameplay is all about balance. You expand to new islands while juggling research and survival. You keep upgrading your land to unlock better rewards.
You also need to build enough defenses not to end up overrun by enemies. There are situations where you’re deciding between expanding your tribe and just trying to survive the next invasion. On that note, watch the trailer of DinoBlits right here.
Will You Try DinoBlits?
There’s an auto-battle option which is initially fun. The game also has a soulmate mechanic which is pretty neat. Your chief gets a partner and you can pick their abilities, which genuinely affect gameplay.
The game has been labelled as a roguelike but it’s not a proper roguelike. There’s not a whole lot of replayability. But if you want to try out a simple, casual strategy game, then you can try DinoBlits out. Check it on the Google Play Store.
