Jam City has opened pre-registration for Disney Magic Match 3D, a new mobile puzzle game developed in collaboration with Disney and Pixar Games. This one doesn’t need you to match flat tiles or candy-shaped icons, though!
What do you match then?
The game builds its puzzles around 3D piles of nostalgic Disney and Pixar items. You must sort, match, and clear to bring order back to the Book of Magic.
Disney Magic Match 3D uses the classic matching game features. But there’s a narrative to it. The enchanted Book of Magic has spilled its contents into chaos, leaving items scattered from different corners of Disney history.
So, you tap through piles of magical clutter, organising objects, and matching them in groups of three to restore order page by page. Collect the required items within the given time, fill the item tray with three of the same objects to clear them, and continue until the puzzle is complete.
Expect to pick out Moana’s Heart of Te Fiti, Aladdin’s magic lamp, Woody’s boots from Toy Story, Mickey Mouse’s gloves, Minnie Mouse’s bow, or Donald Duck’s hat. Clearing levels earns rewards, with stars unlocking prizes like coins, boosts, and lives from the Star Chest and Level Chest.
Visually, the game has a plump and colourful 3D art style. More like chibi versions of the popular Disney characters. You can take a peek at the Disney Magic Match 3D pre-registration trailer below.
Disney Magic Match 3D may be about puzzles, but it also leans into the joy of tidying. That’s something that games like Unpacking and Tetris-style organisers make you feel.
Disney Magic Match 3D pre-registration is open
While pre-registration is now live globally, the game soft-launched in some regions earlier this year. It’s already available to play in the Philippines, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Uruguay.
But if you’re not in any of the regions above, then check out the game on the Google Play Store.
