[Updated] Doctor Who: Legacy will be arriving onto Android in the next couple of days

Mobile games who happen to also be a fan of the telephone booth time-travelling Doctor Who has something to look forward to on Wednesday as that is when BBC Worldwide will be releasing Doctor Who: Legacy, a Puzzle-RPG style of game that will be available for free.

Update March 10th 2014 4:04am PST: If you happen to own a Kindle Fire tablet, this game is now available on Amazon’s AppStore for free.

Update November 27th 2013 11:11am PST: It looks like Doctor Who: Legacy is right on time with its release date. You can now download this game off of Google Play for free. We’ve added the Google Play link at the end of this article along with the new launch trailer for the game. One final note – This game is not compatible with a lot of devices it seems.

Developed through a joint effort between Tiny Rebel Games and Seed Studio, Doctor Who: Legacy will have players building up a team of your favorite characters from the entire history of the show. This team will end up facing a multitude of the enemies Doctor Who has also faced throughout the TV show’s history.

While there isn’t a whole lot of additional details than that, we do know it will be a episodic release, with the launch of the game containing the characters from the two most recent seasons to date. Season 5 will arrive in an update in the new year and furthers updates will start to work backwards in terms of what characters and seasons will be arriving. That means the last update will end up being the very first year of Doctor Who and all the characters that appeared in it.

So all you Doctor Who fans don’t have to wait long until this new game arrive since its release is only a couple of days away. Unfortunately we don’t have any real screenshots to show except for the one above which was only released to the public today.
