Dog Sled Saga is a new mushing simulator from indie game developer Dan FitzGerald

If you’ve been following us for a little while now, then you’ve probably seen us reporting on indie game developer Dan FitzGerald. Previous titles include Dawn of the Plow and, more recently, FireWhip. Well he is back again but not alone. This time both Dan and his wife Lisa have released a new game called Dog Sled Saga.

This particular game has been in development for 3.5 years, with both Dan and his wife working on the entire project. This is a ‘mushing simulator’, which basically means it is a dog sled racing simulation game. Players will have to not only learn how to race their dog sled, but also manage their dog sled team. You’ll start off as a rookie with a new team that you’ll need to grow into an experienced one.

Dog Sled Saga Features:

– Pick-up-and-play racing
– Deep team management simulation
– Unique dogs with varying attributes and conditions
– True pixel-grid art style with frame-by-frame animation
– Multi-platform save sync via Drive

Players will need to learn each dogs unique attributes, keep them fed while racing as their speed can be hindered by hunger, and dodge hazards during each race. As you grow in experience, you will end up having to do a lot more such as keeping a monthly budget for things like league expenses, hire on new dogs and fire other dogs on your team, earn fame to try and get sponsorship deals, breed dogs, hire employees and a lot more.

For those of you interested in checking this game out, Dog Sled Saga is now available for download off of Google Play. You can snap up a copy for $3.99 and there are no IAPs either. You can check out the game’s trailer ahead of time with the video below.
