El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron jumping from Xbox360/PS3 to Android

You may or may not remember a trailer we posted on our YouTube channel about the indie artsy game called El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron back during E3 2011. We posted it because a lot of us are gamers not just on Android and the game itself really brings the concept of games as an art form to life.

So who knew that a few months later we would be posting about this game coming to Android soon? Perhaps we did somewhere deep down in our subconsciousness and now here we are, reporting on El Shaddai coming to Android. When it is released, it will also come with support for the Xperia Play controls for those of you who are curious if it would or not.

The game is based around an angel named Enoch as he goes around carrier out God’s will. He has set out to find seven fallen angels in order to stop a massive biblical flood from happening. El Shaddai was developed by Takeyasu Sawaki and if that name seems familiar it is because he has also developed Devil May Cry and Okami as well. UTV Ignition is set to be the publisher of El Shaddai on Android as well.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron will have some changes to it in order to fit the format more suitable for mobile devices. In the console version, El Shaddai is a mix of third-person action and platform gaming while apparently the mobile version will be a 2D side-scrolling platformer by the looks of it. Hopefully much the beauty of the console version will be brought into the mobile one as well. No exact release date or price has been announced just yet.

You can check out the console version’s trailer below to get a better idea about the game itself.
