After running for nearly a decade, Fantasy War Tactics R has announced its EOS. Yep, all the turn-based tactics, grid movement, and tactical team-building is coming to an end. It’s a bit of a bummer; if you’ve played the game, you’d probably know.
The game was released in November 2015 by Nexon GT and published by Nexon. However, it eventually shifted hands to Valofe in a much-criticised transfer during Season 2. Since then, many longtime players felt the soul of the game slowly faded anyway.
When Is the Fantasy War Tactics R EOS?
It’s happening on July 29th, 2025, at 10:00 AM KST. The EOS comes with a few final housekeeping updates for Fantasy War Tactics R.
In-app purchases will be disabled on June 24th, 2025, at 08:00 AM KST. You’ll still be able to use your existing in-game currency to make purchases until the servers shut down.
If you’ve purchased the Premium Level Up Package but haven’t claimed all of it yet, don’t worry. A final Premium Set Reward will be sent out after the next maintenance.
There’s also a Farewell Event running from June 24th to July 29th. On that note, you can find it on the Google Play Store, and maybe check it out for one last time.

Fantasy War Tactics R launched in 154 countries and brought a fresh take on mobile SRPGs. It offers 12 regions, 180 dungeons, and over 50 heroes.
It has directional combat and rock-paper-scissors mechanics. And its best feature is the ability to collect most heroes through gene farming instead of pure gacha pulls.
With its shift to Valofe, the game started showing significant changes. Balancing decisions felt more erratic. Updates slowed, and community engagement dried up.
