HoYoverse is gearing up for the launch of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4. It’s launching on July 2nd, and is titled ‘For the Sun is Set to Die.’ The patch notes have been released, and the update will see the return of several popular characters.
Version 3.4 is also set to bring significant changes to Honkai: Star Rail. HoYoverse dropped the Developer Radio earlier this week listing out the new features. They’re adding dialogue skip and story summary. You can read more about it here.
The Story Is Taking a Huge Turn
Phainon, a trusted figure among the Chrysos Heirs in Aedes Elysiae, is finally becoming a playable character. His personal arc unfolds as you explore his origins, from his early days as a warrior to his current standing in the Flame-Chase.
Phainon’s transformation unlocks new powers themed around Origination, Calamity, and the Foundation Titans.
Meanwhile, in Penacony, an unexpected invitation arrives from Old Oti of the Alfalfa Family. The letter introduces a unique contest called Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War. It’s a tournament where seven participants summon legendary figures from Penacony’s past to fight as their Servants.
The contest begins on July 11th, and includes contenders like Aventurine, Mr. Boothill, and Miss Robin. The event is part of a major collaboration between Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works.
Three Heroic Spirits will join the Holy Grail War, including Saber, Archer, and Lancer. Saber is a Wind-type 5-star Destruction character. Archer is a Quantum-type Hunt character, who will be available for free starting July 11th. You’ll have until the end of Version 3.6 to claim him.
Both Archer and Saber will appear on long-term banners alongside their Light Cones. So, they will be accessible to you well after the event wraps up. On that note, catch a glimpse of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 PV below.
What Else Is in Store?
The first half of the update will bring back Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle. The second half will reintroduce Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade. Alongside their return, Silver Wolf, Kafka, Jingliu, and Blade are getting significant upgrades.
