Free-to-play action RPG Soulcraft finally ditches the beta tag

Soulcraft, a game that went into beta mode right at the beginning of this year, finally sees the light of the day as a “proper” release as the year fittingly comes to a close. The game, which has you playing as angel for now, features five different game modes set in diverse real-world locations that are depicted in cell shaded graphics such as Hamburg, New York, Great Wall of China and Venice.

In this latest version of the game, everything has been polished and tidied up. I for one like how the progress is more linear and straightforward as opposed to how it was previously. Still, the game lacks a storyline, which would undoubtedly add a lot to it. One of the major new changes in the latest update is that you can now fight alongside pets. However, they cost a hefty sum of gold coins, so you’d have to pony up some extra gold coins via an in-app purchase if you fancy having a sidekick.

If you’ve followed the many iterations of the beta version of the game, you will know that multiplayer has long been teased. We can let you know that multiplayer is planned for the next update slated to hit next month (if everything goes to plan), but it won’t be of the real-time variation – instead asynchronous multiplayer will be the order of the day. Other features that have been long been touted such as other playable races like humans and demons are also planned for future updates.

Soulcraft features:

– free2play / freemium Action RPG game with lots of hack n slash and dungeon crawling
– awesome graphics and great gameplay in this best roleplaying game for Android
– combat demons in real locations such as Venice, Rome & Hamburg, New York & Egypt
– play as an Angel now with more races including Demon and Human coming soon
– five different game modes in legendary quests including time run, arena, hellgate, crystal defense and boss fights
– battle lots of different and diversified enemies and fight with lots of weapons, swords, items, spells, equipment, gear and loot

While the game is now out of beta, there are still many small issues to be ironed out (such as log-in issues and wonky controls), and the developers have let us know that it will take some time to get the bugs fixed. Once everything is stabilized, we’ll be sure to take a closer look at the game by doing a review. Soulcraft is available for free in two variations from Google Play – the normal version for all Android devices and an enhanced Tegra version.
