Fun Friday: Flappy Bird Arcade Cabinet, Gaming Clock Faces, and 2400 MS-DOS games

It is time for another addition to our Fun Friday series and today we have some pretty cool things to check out in the world of gaming. While we usually post things that are more on the funny side of things, once in awhile things are just more interesting and cool than funny.

Flappy Birds Invades Arcades

First off, and this is more of a facepalm than anything else, Flappy Bird is now being offered in a full-sized arcade cabinet version for people who can’t get enough of the game on their mobile device of choice. Now, while you are chilling at home, you can blow hours of your time standing and playing Flappy Birds as an arcade game. This will, hopefully, allow you to get a score higher than 20.

You can thank Bay Tek Games for making the Flappy Bird arcade cabinet a reality. In terms of size, the whole thing weighs in at 300-pound, is 91-inches tall, and features a 42-inch portrait screen. Controls are designed specifically for Flappy Birds and consists of one big red button… and that’s it. It is coin operated and spits out tickets for those arcades out there that offer up ticket redemption. There is also a leaderboard for daily and all-time high scores.

Apparently this is a licensed game which means the Flappy Bird developer did apparently approve this. As for pricing, Bay Tek Games does not have one listed on their website. If you want one, you’ll have to contact them.

2400 MS-DOS For Free

Archive.org is the internet’s biggest archive of all things old or at least information that needs to be collected and accessible at any time to anyone who needs to access it. After working for quite some time, Archive.org has created an archive of 2400 MS-DOS games, all of which are available for free to play either in your browser or download and play via MS-DOS. The list of games mainly consists of demos, freeware, and shareware which means there are some real ‘gems’ in there.

Games are added on a weekly basis to this list so there will always be something new, albeit old, to check out. If you feel like taking a trip down memory lane, this is a good way to do it.

Android Wear Game-Themed Watch Faces

Ever since we posted about the Pac-Man Android Wear watch face back in December 2014, it has been pretty hard for some of our readers to not go out and buy an Android Wear watch just for the sake of having that Pac-Man watch face. If you thought that made things a little difficult when it comes to buying an Android Wear watch, then these watch faces will probably not help you at all. These are just a couple of examples of what is out there but they are pretty good examples. The Fallout 3 and Metal Gear Solid ones are especially nice.

The two examples above actually have a lot of cool features which you can read about through the links under the pictures as well as downloading them. Of course due to Google’s regulations regarding Google Play, even though these are technically under ‘Fan Art’ in terms of licensing and should be available for free on Google Play, 90% of the time they get taken down. So to find out how to get these faces, you’ll need to go to their respective Reddit threads and/or developer website.
