Since the release and subsequent pulling of Flappy Birds off of Google Play, there have been a plethora of clones and spin-offs of the original game. We mean there is a LOT of them. The creator of Canabalt was a part of the recent Flappy Jam and took his Canabalt game a meshed it with the idea behind Flappy Bird to create Flappybalt.
Flappy Jam was actually held over a month ago and Flappybalt was one of the game to come out of it. Originally developed for PC, Flappybalt has been ported over to mobile devices by Don’t Move developer Steve Richey. As you are probably guessing, the art style is right out of the Canabalt game, with plenty of grey pixel art to look at. Don’t start thinking this is a pure clone though because it isn’t and, in fact, Flappybalt doesn’t even play like the original Flappy Bird game.

In this game you won’t be moving through a series of pipes, dieing relentlessly if you so much as even brush one of them with your little bird. In this game you’ll be tapping on the screen to make your bird move to bounce off walls. The only problem is the walls have moving sections of spikes that you don’t want to hit with your bird.
The spikes move each time you touch the wall successfully. It’s a game of balance and patience. It’s also almost as difficult as Flappy Bird was and almost as addictive. Snagging a copy of Flappybalt will cost you nothing as well. You can also grab the source code off of Github so expect clones to arrive quickly.
