Genshin Impact has rolled out its biggest annual update today, which brings the long-awaited region of Nod-Krai. It marks the seventh major region of Teyvat and comes right in time for the game’s fifth anniversary.
The update is titled Version Luna I: A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves
If you’ve cleared Liyue’s main questline, you can dive into the new Archon Quest set in Nod-Krai. The story follows growing tensions in the region, with the Fatui Harbinger known as Marionette planning to seize the moon’s power.
Along the way, travellers will team up with Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions and join Flins in clashes against the Wild Hunt. They’ll also reconnect with familiar allies in Nasha Town such as Dori, Nefer, and Jahoda. Columbina, previously known as a Fatui Harbinger, also reappears here, now regarded as the Moon Maiden in her homeland.
The new Genshin Impact update introduces three playable characters from Nod-Krai. Lauma, a 5-star Catalyst user, wields Dendro and unlocks the new Lunar-Bloom Reaction. Flins, another 5-star, fights with a Polearm infused with Electro to deliver Lunar-Charged strikes.
The third one is Aino, a 4-star Claymore wielder, whom you can recruit for free through the Archon Quest. Version Luna I’s first half of Event Wishes features Lauma alongside a Nahida rerun, with a Chronicled Wish tied to Sumeru. The second half offers Flins, Aino, and a rerun for Yelan.
Special anniversary rewards are part of the update
You can claim a free 5-star character from the Standard Wish pool and will also receive enough materials to ascend to level 60. Additional rewards include 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fates, and two gadgets themed after Nod-Krai.
As part of the fifth anniversary festivities, HoYoFair is bringing back the Genshin Impact Fan Art Special Program. The new showcase, titled Parallels Meet, will premiere on September 20th, 2025, at 20:00 UTC+8. It will stream on YouTube, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
