Outplay Entertainment has just served up Gordon Ramsay: Chef Blast, a matching puzzler starring the famously brusque TV chef.
The gameplay sees you tapping on clusters of matching blocks to clear them, with larger clusters yielding boosters such as bombs and rockets that clear swathes of the screen. It’s like Toon Blast, in other words, and a million other games like it, including Outplay’s own Crafty Candy.
The differentiating factor is Gordon Ramsay, who gives you encouragement and advice using his real life voice. As you finish levels you build up a recipe book, containing recipes that Ramsay apparently created especially for the occasion, which is a selling point even if you don’t care for casual puzzlers.
New levels will be added to the game every couple of weeks, too, which should in principle increase its longevity. Otherwise, Gordon Ramsay: Chef Blast is just the latest slick, polished, Candy Crush-derived puzzler to arrive on mobile.
