Hearthstone is ready for the Year of the Raptor with 2025 packed with surprises, fresh gameplay and new features. The usual triple dose of expansions, Mini-Sets, and Battlegrounds seasons are all dropping soon.
And apparently, the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set got a great response too, so Blizzard seems pumped to keep the fun going throughout the year. They’ve even released a roadmap that gives us a peek into the near future of the game.
What Does the Year of the Raptor Bring to Hearthstone?
One of the biggest updates on the horizon is for Arena. It’s been in the works since last year, and it’s finally ready to launch. Arena has been around since Hearthstone’s early days, but this refresh is bringing in a new generation of players.
Cosmetics are also getting a boost. There are new Mythic skins, Signature cards and something completely new: Pets. The little guys will be part of a new system to get cosmetics, though Blizzard hasn’t spilled all the details yet.
The Year of the Raptor in Hearthstone officially kicks off with the first expansion of the year, Into the Emerald Dream. Card reveals start next week, but there’s already a celebration brewing in-game. You can earn rewards like The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion and a Raptor Herald card by completing the Event Track.

What Else Is Coming?
There’s also a new evolving game board launching with the expansion. The Year of the Raptor board is sticking around in Hearthstone for the whole year. It will get visual and audio updates with each expansion too.
Lastly, the Core Set is getting a refresh as well. Some classic cards are making a comeback, but with a few tweaks, and new cards are also being added. With so much in the pipeline, maybe it’s time you jump back into the game. Grab it from the Google Play Store if you haven’t already!
