Here’s the official list of games launching with Samsung’s Gear VR

Yesterday we announced that Samsung’s virtual reality headset, the Gear VR, is now available for purchase. With the release of this new virtual reality device, which most people will want for the gaming aspects of it, comes a list of games that are available for its launch.

In total 11 games will be available for download when you get your new Gear VR headout set. If you’ve followed any of our coverage in the past about this headset, or more specifically our coverage about Darknet, then you may remember us mentioning that when this releases, it will be using the Oculus Rift marketplace which doesn’t accept payments yet. This means that all the games available will be free, either as a demo for a future premium release or a completely free game which is what Darknet is doing.

Darknet

Here is the list of games you can expect to see:

– Anshar Wars
– Bombsquad
– Darknet
– Dreadhalls
– Esper
– Herobound
– Ikarus
– Minotaur Rescue VR
– Proton Pulse
– Romans from Mars
– Viral

Of course these are just the games and doesn’t include applications that will also be available for use with the Gear VR. However games are the best part of a virtual reality device. You can expect more games and applications to hit the Oculus Rift marketplace shortly as well. As for when paid games and applications will arrive, no word on that. Unfortunately a lot of developers are waiting on exactly that before they release anything.
