Hero Games is gearing up for a new survival game called CrisisX. They announced it at Gamescom last year, and is returning to the event this year as well. They’ve also revealed that the game will be landing in Q2 of 2026 on Android, iOS, and PC.

What’s CrisisX?

CrisisX brings a post-apocalyptic open-world survival experience across a massive 1,200 km² map. It’s set in a small US town in the early 1990s and places up to 5,000 players together on a single server. Yep, that’s massively massive.

The world is split into 12 completely different terrains and bio-environments. There is a dusty western-style town, an isolated, hidden laboratory, a snowy mountain, a rushing river filled with wildlife and others.

Every region comes with its distinct vegetation, wild animals, items, and hard-to-get resources. They also have some mutants which are region specific.

Bigger infected groups demand machine guns, RPGs and grenades. In fact, some cases may even require you to roll out a heavily armoured vehicle such as an M2 Bradley or a World War II era M4 Sherman tank

You can form Teams, Groups, and Communes and together expand your collective territory. You can even relax with in-game activities such as fishing or card games. Catch a glimpse of CrisisX by Hero Games here.

CrisisX is the first independent project of Hero Games. They’ve previously worked with Kuro Games, the developer of Wuthering Waves. They already shared some gameplay visuals at the Gamescom 2024.

At Gamescom, visitors will be able to experience an exclusive first look at CrisisX on-site. And if you can’t make it to Gamescom in person, you can keep an eye on the official website and the Steam page as the devs will share further updates over the coming months.
