HoYoverse has finally dropped a teaser for what’s next in the Honkai universe. It’s Honkai: Nexus Anima, Honkai’s upcoming game in the series. The teaser gives us a tiny peek at the game and players are trying to analyse what kind of gameplay it might bring.
What Do We Know?
During the Honkai: Star Rail second anniversary concert, HoYoverse streamed the new teaser live. Right at the end of the show, the teaser was played with Kiana’s voice greeting viewers in Chinese. The Honkai Impact 3rd character appeared standing at the door of a building with her adorable pet in the spotlight.
And then came Blade, from Honkai: Star Rail, giving us a hint that Honkai’s two worlds will probably have a connection in Nexus Anima. The trailer didn’t give away too much. Why don’t you take a look at it yourself right here?
By the way, no official title was dropped during the stream. You can see that at the end, the teaser says ‘A brand new Honkai game, stay tuned.’ But the name that’s currently doing the rounds is Honkai: Nexus Anima.
That’s because it first popped up earlier this year in job listings. The name has also shown up in trademark filings and domain registrations, which adds more weight to the idea that this is what the game will be called.
Is It Going to be a Pokémon-Like?
If you’re getting Pokémon vibes from the teaser, you’re not alone. The teaser does feel a bit like Pokémon meets Honkai, especially with the pet companions and trainer-style battles.
The video even showed a Kiana vs Blade moment, so the game might be more combat- and companion-focused than previous Honkai entries.
As of now, we don’t know when it’s coming out or even if Nexus Anima is the final name. But this sure looks interesting! Until we get more details on Honkai’s Nexus Anima, read our next scoop. It’s about Gothic Vampire RPG Silver and Blood’s Pre-Registration on Android.
