Mattel and Budge Studios have just released Hot Wheels Unlimited, a racing game based on the popular toy franchise.
Hot Wheels Unlimited is a 3D racer in which you’re driving on, well, Hot Wheels tracks, complete with loop-de-loops, flaming rings, and other outrageously hazardous obstacles. There are nemeses, too, such as a Gorilla and a Shark. You can also race against human opponents.
As well as a racing component, Hot Wheels Unlimited also contains a track editor that lets you put your own tracks together, nemeses and all. You’re free to throw in all the loops, jumps, ramps, and boosters you like.
There’s a puzzle dynamic to the track-building, too, as well as a number of set challenges. And the game lets you collect classic Hot Wheels cars, including Roger Dodger, Bone Shaker, Night Shifter, and others.
Interestingly, Hot Wheels Unlimited uses a subscription-based monetization model, rather than the usual free-to-download with IAPs. You can try it out for free right now on the Google Play Store.
