If you’re into Japanese music, you definitely know HYDE. He has played at Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, he’s the central character in a new endless runner game. It’s called Hyde Run and it has launched globally today.
The infinite runner launched in Japan a while ago and now it’s available for players worldwide. The game’s developer and publisher Phoenixx says it will give global fans a way to celebrate HYDE’s music through a game filled with references to his career.
Move, Jump or Slide in Hyde Run
The game lets you parkour through a concert stage and a futuristic Tokyo at the same time. You play as HYDE in a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, dodging obstacles, wall-running past billboards and scooping up musical notes.
The vibe in the game is definitely more neon-and-noise than an average endless runner. Unlike other games in the genre, Hyde Run throws in guitar solo energy and fanservice, which is way more specific.
While you’re zipping through the city, you can grab various power-ups. It includes magnets that pull notes toward you or barriers that keep you from taking damage.
Before each run, you can activate items to give yourself a boost. Pop a Note Gain to collect more notes. Or you can go for a Barrier if you hate tripping over random obstacles.
You can also collect crystals which unlock exclusive outfits and room items from HYDE’s long career. You can even access voice clips from the man himself by unlocking the Microphone Stand.

There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
You can customize HYDE’s room in the game. You’ll find memorabilia going back 20 years, from old tour gear to more obscure nods. There are hidden items that unlock more messages and voice notes from HYDE.
Right now, there’s a bunch of limited-time content up for grabs until June 10th, 2025. There’s the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, which puts HYDE in the iconic look from the music video. It comes with matching ROCK Furniture too, like leopard prints, vintage trunks and stage spotlights.
Then there’s the Bat Jinbei Costume Set which is more chill and summer-festival inspired. For a more full traditional vibe, there’s a Japanese-style furniture set with bamboo, bonboris and a wind chime shaped like HYDE’s Edyh character.
