Fellow Traveller, a narrative games publisher, has just signed a deal with Made Up Games, a new game development studio from New York. Now, why are we talking about this deal? The new interactive story and video game is titled Pine: A Story of Loss. Pine is expected to hit the shelves in late 2024, and it’s coming to Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch and PC. The game follows the story of a woodworker who’s grieving the loss of his wife. But this widower isn’t just about reminiscing; he’s turning memories into stunning wood carvings.
Now, the problem is that he becomes obsessed with his art. Needless to say, the story unfolds through interactions and hand-drawn animations that will tug at your heartstrings and get you drenched in emotion. With each season’s turn, the woodworker faces the future, haunted by memories of days gone by.
Whether he’s patching up the roof or sowing seeds, each chore is a recollection of his memories with his wife. Pine will let you soak up the ambient vibes and tackle puzzles that make everyday tasks seem less ordinary.
