Is This Seat Taken? Is a new, cosy, silly puzzler game on Android. It’s developed by Poti Poti Studio and published by Wholesome Games, the same team behind Minami Lane and MakeRoom. The game brings a surprising amount of warmth, letting you help characters feel understood and comfortable.
It’s a world full of oddities and clashing personalities, but…
Is This Seat Taken? is a logic puzzle which delivers everyday dilemmas most of us have seen but never had to personally sort out. Crowded buses, movie theatres, awkward weddings, or taxi rides with strangers: the list is endless.
Each setting introduces a fresh challenge where your task is to assign seats based on everyone’s distinct preferences. Someone wearing overpowering cologne shouldn’t sit next to a guest with a sensitive nose.
On the other hand, a sleepy traveller might not enjoy sharing a row with a music enthusiast blasting tunes through headphones. And so on. From fussy banquet guests to sleepy commuters, it’s your job to find the sweet spot for everyone without rushing.
The main character is Nat, an aspiring actor whose journey kicks off when they catch a glimpse of a shape just like them on the big screen. That unexpected moment of recognition sets them off on a worldwide adventure in search of identity and belonging. Nat’s personal story unfolds through different cities and levels.
Is This Seat Taken? is calm and humorous
As you solve puzzles, you unlock new scenarios, like crammed taxi rides and elaborate banquets. Each level brings a new cast of finicky characters. Some want the window seat, while some demand the aisle. Some simply want to avoid others altogether.
The characters are sentient shapes with strong opinions about who they sit next to. The game’s absurd yet familiar logic makes it hard not to grin at the parallels. Watch the latest launch trailer below. And be sure to check the game out on the Google Play Store.
