Jump King, the 2D platformer that’s become a rite of passage for gamers who like a good rage-quit, just landed on mobile. Nexile and UKIYO Publishing have launched the game worldwide for Android and iOS after a short test run in select territories.
A free to play game, Jump King soft launched (on mobile) in UK, Canada, the Philippines and Denmark in March this year. It brings the same brutal jumping mechanics from PC and consoles, where it launched in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
What’s Jump King on Mobile Like?
In the game, you play as a guy in armour who jumps. That’s it. You jump. But the jumps have to be precise and unforgiving. Otherwise, you’ll plummet back to the bottom. Every single jump autosaves.
The goal is to reach the top and find the Smoking Hot Babe of Legend. Know that she’s not handing out any shortcuts. One badly timed leap and you’ll lose everything and have to start jumping from scratch.
The controls have been adapted to mobile with accuracy. You just have to hold to charge your jump and release to fly. The game is all about precision and patience, but also panic and poor decisions.
What Else Should You Know?
Jump King Mobile runs on a heart-based system. You start with 300 hearts and lose one every time you fall. You can spin a daily fortune wheel to win between 10 and 150 hearts, or watch ads whenever you run out, with a cap of 150 free hearts that way.
Jump King Mobile includes two full expansions. New Babe+ is a second chapter with a strange and intense new path. Meanwhile, Ghost of the Babe throws you into an eerie third act set in a hauntingly empty landscape past Philosopher’s Forest.
Grab the game from the Google Play Store if it sounds interesting.
