Kabam’s next game looks like it will be based off of The Hobbit

Kabam, known for their free-to-play browser MMO games and now their recently released Arcane Empires on Android, look to be gearing up to release another game soon and this time it could be based off of The Hobbit. Officially being called The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-Earth, this mobile phone and tablet MMORTS game is slated for release later this Fall, just in time for the first release of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy this December.

While not too many details are known about The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-Earth, we do know that it will be similar to Arcane Empires where players will building up and managing their own towns, except for the fact that it isn’t just themed after some general fantasy setting, but instead off of The Hobbit universe. That is pretty much all we have to go on right now although we have reached out to our friends over at Kabam for additional information. When we hear back, we will post an update.

This will be one of two Hobbit-based games Kabam will be releasing this Fall, the other one being The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age but this particular game will be for browser-based gaming. However, if you are interested in getting into that game as well, for those of you who are die-hard Hobbit fans, there is an early beta sign-up now available over on Kabam’s website. Both will be free-to-play game with social features integrated into them.
