Kaiju No. 8 The Game has officially launched on Android. Adapted from the hit Shonen Jump+ manga and its ongoing anime, Akatsuki Games is the publisher on mobile. For the game, the devs have recreated the signature fighting styles in detail.
It needs no introduction!
It’s humanity’s battle against towering monsters. Kaiju No. 8 The Game sets the stage for massive clashes between the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force and relentless kaiju attacks.
It offers turn-based combat, letting you control a four-person squad. Characters are paired up as battle partners. So, whoever you line up together will coordinate follow-up attacks whenever you expose a kaiju’s core.
Kaiju carry protective plates, which vary in type. Until you break them, you’ll struggle to land meaningful damage. Sometimes they crack under any attack, but others demand very specific ones, down to elemental affinities like fire, ice, wind, lightning, or water.
It features all the major characters. Kafka Hibino, Kikoru Shinomiya with the massive axe, Soshiro Hoshina with the twin swords, and Mina Ashiro alongside her tiger Bakko all show up. Then, there are newcomers like Sagan Shinomiya, captain of the mysterious CLOZER unit.
Speaking of CLOZER, it’s short for Closing Order With Zero Restrictions. It’s a new group dedicated to shutting down dimensional gates that have opened across the globe. This narrative angle broadens the setting beyond Japan.
In Kaiju No. 8 The Game, you’ll also have encounters with alternate versions of iconic monsters. For instance, the devs have added a fresh take on the legendary Kaiju No. 2. Meanwhile, the central story is set during season two of the anime.

The game comes with full Japanese voice acting. There are side missions highlighting moments from the manga and anime. You’ll find entirely original narratives that dig into characters’ backstories and a side-scrolling combat mini-game.
