Katana Dragon has officially launched on mobile. Developed by Tsunoa Games, an indie studio based in Alicante, it’s the team’s first release. In the game, they’ve blended Asian influences with that of European, particularly Spanish, culture.

So, what’s the story in Katana Dragon?

It’s set in the world of Sogen, a land cursed by an ancient evil and in need of two unlikely heroes. You step into the roles of ninjas Shin and Nobi, who suddenly find themselves caught in a struggle far bigger than their original mission.

What begins as a simple task to deliver a gift soon spirals into a risky adventure. It kicks off when their Sensei and the people around them are turned into ghosts by a spreading curse.

With only Shin and Nobi unaffected, they take up the responsibility of unravelling the mystery. They’re guided by their ghost Sensei across every corner of Sogen, from its villages and towns to mountains and islands.

The story dates back a thousand years, when a dragon ravaged Sogen until five monks sealed it in a glass prison with their Ki. Over time, the dragon broke free, and chaos erupted once more.

A legendary swordsmith named Katamune crafted the Katana Dragon from fragments of that broken barrier. It gave the young samurai Cideyasu the weapon he needed to face the beast. Their victory should have brought peace forever, but it only delayed the threat.

There’s a lot to explore!

The adventure takes you through hand-designed maps, with a variety of puzzles, traps, secrets, and dungeons. Each dungeon, cave, and well hides treasures and bosses.

To survive, you need to master a set of ninja skills. They include Ninja Dash, a lightning-fast move to leap over cliffs or dodge attacks, which can also trigger Ninja Instinct if timed perfectly.

Shadow Clone creates a second version of yourself from your shadow, able to hit enemies or press switches. Shuriken Ki allows you to form energy blades that bounce off walls and activate mechanisms. So, check out the game on the Google Play Store.
