Kingdomino, the award-winning tabletop game now has a digital version. It’s now out on Android and other platforms. The board game launched in 2017, and even went on to win the prestigious Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) award.

Created by Meeple Corp in partnership with Blue Orange Games and Bruno Cathala, the mobile release recreates the same gameplay. You can build your kingdom connecting forests, lakes, fields, and other terrains.

Kingdomino is a strategic domino building game

The goal in the game is to create the highest-scoring kingdom by placing domino-style tiles. You can do it in a 5×5 or 7×7 grid. Each tile shows two terrains, and some come with crowns that can earn you more points.

You start with a single castle, pick your tiles carefully, and place them where matching terrains connect. A key twist lies in the drafting system. Grabbing a better tile in one round means your pick in the next is a bit relaxed and delayed.

So, basically, you score points by creating large inter-connected territories. The game has classic turn-based gameplay where upto four players can play. As you progress, you’ll unlock cosmetic upgrades like themed castles and meeples, as well as new icons and frames.

Visually, Kingdomino captures the charm of the original board game. It has the same vibrant hand-drawn environments and comes with 3D animations and animated tiles.

It’s Simple and Fun

There are several modes to play Kingdomino. It has single-player battles against AI with adjustable difficulty, real-time multiplayer, and online matchmaking. There’s also a local pass-and-play option for shared screens.

The game comes with cross-platform support and also supports offline mode. With content inspired by expansions like Age of Giants, Kingdomino also brings global rankings. It’s available at a one-time purchase of $4.99, so check it out on the Google Play Store.
